Flight Simulators
While some may dream of patrolling the skies and defending their country from enemies in a fighter jet, few will ever have the chance to do so. But history buffs and air force enthusiasts can become a part of the action with Aces High, a World War II fight simulator that takes the player to the heart of the action. With dozens of planes to choose from and several arenas in which the player can wage war against friends, here are just a few of the reasons why Aces High outperforms many other online flight simulator games.
Missouri War Effort During World War 2
World War Two Games - Flight Simulators
Today we at HiTech Creations will turn our attention to the activity that occurred in Missouri during World War 2. In previous articles we have specifically looked at the airfields built during the war. As many of you know the war effort at home was crucial in winning World War II and so we like to take a look at specific states and see what happened in those states to aid in the war effort. We don’t have to do this but we want Aces High to continue to be the best combat flight simulator on the market so we keep broadening our knowledge about the war.
Missouri built a number of airfields so that pilots and aircrews could train for the war abroad. Let’s take a look at that list now and see what happened to those airfields from long ago:
- Malden AAF, now Malden Municipal Airport
- Sedalia Air Force Auxiliary Field, now Whiteman Air Force Base
- Vichy AAF, now Rolla National Airport
- Grandview Air Force Base, now Kansas City SmartPort
- Forney AAF, now Waynesville Regional Airport at Forney Field
- Lambert Field, St. Louis, now Lambert-St. Louis International Airport
- Rosencrans Field AAF, now Rosencrans Memorial Airport
- Kansas City Airport, now Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport
- Chester Field, Perryville, now Perryville Municipal Airport
- Harris Afld, now Cape Girardeau Regional Airport
- Harvey Parks Afld, now Sikeston Memorial Municipal Airport
You might take a look at one state like Missouri and think it’s not that big a deal but remember that after the United States entered World War 2 this kind of activity happened in practically every state in the nation and if it wasn’t airfields being built then it was factories being converted to produce machinery and weapons.
The United States went from barely prepared in 1941 to having war manufacturing become the number one industry in the word in 1943….that, folks, is an incredible effort.
Aces High is dedicated to the soldiers as well as the home war effort done by so many civilians and home-based military. Our World War 2 Flight Simulator is designed to replicate the weapons, aircraft and vehicles as closely as possible and it is our knowledge of the war effort that allows us to replicate those things so well.
