Installing the patch manually

To install the patch manually, you will need to download the correct patch executable file. WARNING: Failure to install the correct patch will render the game corrupt and require a full download and installation.

Check the current version of the game you have installed by starting the game. In the opening screen is the version and patch number. It is located in the upper left corner of your computer display.

If your current version is Version 2.13 Patch 1
Use this patch (102 MBytes) to reach Version 2.14 Patch 5, if you wish to install it manually.

If your computer is running the Windows Vista operating system, and having problems using the game's auto-updater, right-click on the Aces High startup ICON, and select "Run as administrator". Only do this for updating the game or terrains.

Changes from previous release
  • Made a major change in texture management that should greatly reduce both the frequency magnitude of any stutters caused by texture loading.

  • Fixed a texture loading bug that could cause a crash or textures to fail to load.

  • Fixed a bug that caused a lockup when the speed or climb charts of certain aircraft were selected.

  • Fixed a lockup bug that happened when joining another player as a gunner from the hangar.

  • Fixed an issue with the clipboard map that was causing sector lines not to display on some systems.

  • Reduced the specular properties of terrain.

  • Fixed a crash/lockup bug that happened when you went in and out of offline mode repeatedly.

  • Changed the contrast and granularity of the bump map in low detail mode for a better look and better distance cues.
