Flight Simulators

This is part of our Battle series for our combat flight simulator. For 22 days during December of 1943 the British 8th Army under the leadership of Harold Alexander did battle with the LXXVI Panzer Corps of Germany which was led by Albert Kesselring. It was Alexander’s intentions to breach the German Winter Line defensive system and advance to Rome. The German Tenth Army was determined to prevent that at all costs.

Along the Moro River in Italy the battles continued daily, attacking, counter-attacking, casualties mounting on both sides, until it became clear that a stalemate was going to be the end result. Finally by December 26th the offensive stalled and brutal winter weather set in; the blizzard kept both sides from doing any further damage and Alexander was forced to call off his troops and not try for further gains.

The gains that were made by the Allies, however, led to the eventual fall of Rome, so in a very real sense this Campaign, as part of the larger Rome Campaign, was a success.   Final casualties for the Germans are unknown but for the Allies it broke down like this: Canadian forces lost 2,339; New Zealand forces lost 1,600 and India lost 3,400 men.

We at HiTech Creations greatly appreciate the battles and campaigns of World War 2; it really was like a giant chess match, pieces seemingly unconnected moving across a board that spanned nearly the entire globe, all coordinated with a singular purpose. When we created Aces High, our combat flight simulator, we intended for it to be much more than just a flight sim for gamers. Rather, we meant for it to be a tribute to the soldiers who fought that war and who were a part of that grand chess match.

As you become familiar with Aces High and become more proficient you will see the similarities between this war game and actual war. In scenarios you will join squadrons and move your pieces in coordinated fashion. You will be aware of ground movements of your armored divisions; you will keep your PT boats at the ready all the while scouting the areas with your aircraft. Hundreds of the world’s best gamers will be competing against you, making it very much a world campaign.

World War 2 Flight Simulators don’t come more realistic than Aces High. You can scout out our competitors but we are confident that once you compare you will come back to Aces High each and every time. We truly are the best flight simulator on the market.
