One month before Pearl Harbor, the war was raging in Europe, and it is that month that we at Aces High would like to highlight today. November, 1941, just before American involvement in World War II became a full-time job.

- 1st President Roosevelt transfers command of the U.S. Coast Guard to the U.S. Navy.
- 3rd Germany takes the city of Kursk.
- 6th Stalin addresses the Soviet army for only the third time in his rule, giving the inspiration against German advances.
- 7th heavy RAF night bombing of Berlin.
- 9th the Battle of the Duisburg Convoy
- 12th The Battle of Moscow
- 13th Germany begins new offensive against Moscow
- 15th Germany marches on Moscow
- 17th U.S. Ambassador to Japan warns in cable message that Japan plans on attacking Pearl Harbor; message is ignored.
- 18th Operation Crusader as British troops cross into Libya
- 22nd Rostov-on-Don is captured by Germany; Britain warns Finland to end war with Russia.
- 24th Rommel begins 15-day excursion into Egypt.
- 25th U-331 sinks British battleship HMS Barham
- 26th Japan launches 33 warships including six aircraft carriers, and sails towards the Hawaiian Islands.
- 27th Battle of Moscow.
And as the month of November, 1941, came to a close, the United States was enjoying holiday shopping and preparing for family visits. The world, as the U.S. knew it, was about to drastically change within one week.
