On this day in World War 2, the 19th day of February, 1942, Japanese aircraft attacked Darwin in Australia. Also on this day, President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 allowing the U.S. military to define areas as exclusionary zones. This mainly affected Japanese citizens on the West Coast, and German and Italian citizens on the East Coast.
