- 31st Indian 4th Division flanks Agordat, Eritrea in East Africa, capturing 1000 Italian troops.
It is fascinating watching the war unfold month by month. In January 1941 the U.S. was building up its arsenal and preparing plans to possibly enter the European conflict while at the same time recovering from continued threats in the Pacific. There was strong sentiment to stay out of the conflicts and find a peaceful solution. All that would change, of course, in December of 1941 with Pearl Harbor.

October, 1944; that is the month we will highlight today.
The outcome of World War II was inevitable at this point. The Germans and Japanese were on the defensive and they were being attacked from all sides. It had to be obvious to the high commands of those two nations that it was only a matter of time before this great war ended.
We hope you are enjoying this series.
