Listen, we have been the best online flight simulator for thirteen years and we plan on staying at the top. In order to do that we have to constantly improve our game. We hope you approve of the changes!
Today we are going to take a look at the airfields that were built in Louisiana during World War 2. We do this because at Aces High we are all about World War 2 information. History feeds us and our passion is that great war. It was the inspiration behind Aces High and our passion is the reason why Aces high remains the number one combat flight simulator on the market.
During the war effort here at home, these airfields were built in Louisiana:
As we have mentioned in other articles about this subject, these airfields were instrumental in the war effort. Without this incredible effort by civilians and armed forces personnel, there would have been no training facilities for flight crews and pilots. Once schooled properly, these brave men were then shipped off to Europe and the Pacific to do battle during the war.
The other remarkable thing about these airfields is that seventy years later they are still being used for mostly civilian uses. Talk about a great return on your investment!
Practically every state in the Union had airfields built during the period from 1941-1945, a massive effort at home to prepare for the war. Millions of dollars were poured into the war effort and most of these airfields were constructed in mere months. Add to that the naval facilities and ground forces facilities that were constructed and you see an incredible transformation of the American landscape, all happening in a very short time period. Once the American military establishment was awakened the full force of the industrial giant was harnessed, there was no turning back the United States.
So here we are now, with Aces High, and is it any wonder why this flight sim game has been on top for thirteen years. Our attention to detail was honed because of our love and study of World War II. Our World War 2 Flight Simulator is as close as you can come to actually flying some of the great aircraft from that time period.
