Friday Squad Ops: "In The Philippine Skies" - Fridays: January 9th, 16th, 23rd in SEA1.
Frame Time: Fridays, 11PM EST/4AM UTC
As 1944 came to a close in the Philippines, the U.S. Army was still locked in bitter fighting on Leyte. A second landing at Ormoc on December 7th cut off the remaining Japanese forces from resupply, yet resistance persisted for months. Just a week later, U.S. Sixth Army units came ashore on Mindoro to secure sites for airfields intended to support the drive on Manila, where MacArthur aimed to fulfill his promise to return. On January 9th, he landed Sixth Army troops at Lingayen Gulf to begin the liberation of Luzon.
In these final months of 1944, Marine Air Group 12 moved to Leyte under Fifth Air Force command, joining Army Air Forces P-38s, P-47s, and Marine F4Us—as well as supporting bombers—to defend the invasions, strike Japanese positions, and interdict shipping and air attacks. These operations produced some of the fiercest air battles of the Philippine campaign, fought across Leyte, Mindoro, and Luzon as Japanese losses soared and replacements dwindled. This FSO centers on those climactic battles and the Allied landings in late December 1944 and early January 1945.

Friday Squad Ops: "Last Days of the Luftwaffe" - Fridays: December 5th, 12th, 19th in SEA1.
Frame Time: Fridays, 11PM EST/4AM UTC
The Soviet Red Army smashed its way through German-occupied Poland and Hungary as winter turned to spring in 1945. Warsaw had been liberated, and both Budapest and Königsberg were captured. Stalin now aimed to seize Austria, Czechoslovakia, and as much of Germany as possible before the Nazis surrendered. On 25 March, the 2nd Ukrainian Front launched the Bratislava–Brno offensive by crossing the Hron River. By 30 March, they crossed the Nitra and swept across the Danubian Lowland toward Bratislava. Meanwhile, the 3rd Ukrainian Front advanced into Austria to take Vienna. While street fighting raged through 8 April, other Soviet forces bypassed the city and pushed on toward Linz and Graz. By 15 April, the exhausted remnants of the 6th SS Panzer Army were forced to retreat into the area between Vienna and Linz. The major offensive to capture central Germany and Berlin began on 16 April with assaults along the Oder and Neisse. After days of brutal combat, the 1st Belorussian and 1st Ukrainian Fronts broke through and spread across central Germany. By 24 April, they had encircled Berlin, and the battle entered its final phase. On 25 April, the 2nd Belorussian Front shattered the 3rd Panzer Army's line near Stettin, and the 58th Guards Rifle Division linked up with the U.S. 69th Infantry Division at the Elbe. Soviet forces fought into Berlin as April turned to May, and the city surrendered on 2 May.
The Nazi regime viewed Czechoslovakia and surrounding regions as their final stronghold should Berlin fall, concentrating powerful units there, including elements of the 6th SS Panzer Army and several Panzer and combined armies. After Berlin’s capture, the Soviets pushed toward Prague, sparking a local uprising against the occupiers. The 1st Ukrainian Front opened the Prague Offensive on 6 May, with the 2nd Ukrainian Front attacking the next day and the 4th Ukrainian Front advancing on Olomouc. Pressed on three sides and facing internal resistance, German forces surrendered unconditionally, ending the war in Europe. This FSO will recreate the air battles over the Soviet-German lines in the final month of World War II in Europe.

Friday Squad Ops: "Mountbatten's Melee 42" - Fridays: November 7th, 14th, 21st in SEA1.
Frame Time: Fridays, 11PM EST/4AM UTC
Operation Jubilee brought about some of the fiercest aerial combat since the Battle of Britain raged over the shores, towns and countrysides of England back in 1940. The RAF employed 72 squadrons of aircraft; 48 squadrons of Spitfires, 8 squadrons of Hurricanes, 4 squadrons of Mustang Is, 3 squadrons of Typhoons, 6 squadrons of Bostons, 1 Blenheim squadron, and 2 squadrons of USAAF B-17s in addition to several other types of aircraft in support of operations.
The RAF was opposed by two wings of Luftwaffe fighters from JG 2 and JG 26 comprising 190 aircraft. Attack support was provided from KG 2 and elements of anti-shipping support from KG 53, KG 40 and KG 77. The RAF paid a heavy price for their foray into France that day, August 19, 1942. The Luftwaffe held the keys to the clouds with its heavy deployments of the FW190A fighters and Jabos, which wrestled air superiority from the Allies over the beaches. The aerial combat was so heavy and continuous that the invasion fleet remained in peril from the beginning of the attack until the end even with the RAF aerial umbrella overhead.

Friday Squad Ops: "The Push West: A Russian Winter" - Fridays: September 5th, 12th, 19th in SEA1.
Frame Time: Fridays, 11PM EST/3AM UTC
As 1942 gave way to 1943, the Soviets continued to push west in the Rzhev area during the winter months. While the fighting took a large toll on the advancing Soviet armies, it created an interesting pocket structure all the way to Velikiye Luki that left some German Army and Luftwaffe units strung out all the way to Rzhev.
This FSO is set to depict the air battles that happened over the skies of Russia during the winter of 1942/1943.

Friday Squad Ops: "Adlerangriff" - Fridays: August 8th, 15th, 22nd in SEA1.
Frame Time: Fridays, 11PM EST/3AM UTC
By the end of June 1940, Germany had defeated Britain's allies in mainland Europe. Germany’s next move was to conduct an air campaign against Britain. If successful, this plan would either drive Britain into peace talks or cripple its ability to resist a planned seaborne invasion - Operation Sealoin
The first phase of the campaign focused on attacking shipping coastal targets, relatively low risk missions so that the Luftwaffe could recoup its strength after the Battle of France. By August, it was ready to enter an intensified phase, targeting the Royal Air Force itself over southern England. Unternehmen Adlerangriff “Operation Eagle Attack” would see Luftwaffe bombers attacking RAF bases and radar installations while the Bf 109 fighters and Bf 110 destroyers engaged the British Spitfire and Hurricanes in the air.
Churchill had other plans, however - tenacious resistance. Utilizing a network of early warning radar sites and ground spotters, the British fighters could engage the Germans with localized strength.
This FSO will recreate the frantic air battles of the Battle of Britain in August 1940.
