412th FS "Braunco Mustangs"
Introduction:
The 412th is a virtual fighter squadron that participates in Hitech Creations, WWII combat simulator, "Aces High". The squad was formed on April 12th of 2001 with the idea of being something different from most other squads in the game. In 2012 the 412th changed their primary name from the "Braunco Mustangs" to the "Friday Night Volunteer Group".
Origin of the name "Braunco" by Midnight
Braunco is actually two words combined into one.
The first word, "Braun" indicates strength and endurance. The second word (partial word) is "co" indicating co-operation and teamwork. Both of these are qualities and attributes that I admire, and want to instill into all the members of this squad. The 412th used it as a pseudo-spelling for the word "bronco" which is a wild Mustang horse.
The Creation of the "Friday Night Volunteer Group" by Nefarious
After years of operating under the name "Braunco Mustangs" the name of the squad was changed by Nefarious to the "Friday Night Volunteer Group". The squad had become non-existent in the Main Arena and most of the original members had left the squad. Participation only continued in Friday Squad Ops using pilots from squads that left FSO or disbanded. The name was changed to represent the many squad pilots who had joined the 412th in the spirit of being volunteers like the many different World War 2 Squadrons that were made of different pilots from different countries like the AVGs in China, The Eagle Squadron and many other different nationalities who flew for the RAF.
The 412th Friday Night Volunteer Group Mission
The 412th Mission will be to participate in Friday Squad Ops on a weekly basis. The 412th has no real structure in the Main Arenas but is looking to expand its ranks beyond FSO as well. We also participate in other Special Events from time to time.
Squad Night / Friday Squad Operations
The 412th Squad Night is Friday Squad Operations (FSO). FSO begins at 11:00 PM EASTERN TIME.
Friday Night Squad Operations
The 412th have particpated in FSO since 2002 with some periods of inactivity since then. We are currently looking to expand our squad in FSO and are looking for pilots.
Recruiting
The 412th is currently looking for new pilots to participate in FSO. We have only a few requirements.
1. The player must be 18 years or older. Exceptions can be made. 2. The player must regularly attend FSO and know and understand all the Rules and Requirements of
FSO.
Code of Conduct
Members of the 412th are expected to act at a higher standard than the average player in the MA. We should be perceived as a group of respectable and professional acting pilots that are willing to help in organized country efforts when they occur, and provide leadership when it is needed. We need to all take care to avoid any sort of open or private insults to other players. When tempers flare, we will be the ones who take a deep breath and keep the situation under control.
Part of showing respect to other players will include saluting them. Friendly pilots may be saluted on the country channel, while enemy pilots should be saluted on the open channel for all to see. Use your best judgement as who should be saluted or not. Some general guidelines for saluting country members are generally that you know the individual or a squad that they belong to. Saluting of enemies is usually done following combat and to recognize a skillfully fought battle regardless of the outcome. Being able to salute your enemy after he beats you is difficult at times, but if it was a fair fight, it is only fair to salute the enemy's skill.
