New in game aircraft pages[edit]

Because information on in game aircraft is one of the most accessed topics on the AHWiki, HTC would like such pages to have a standardized layout so that there are not 100 different looking pages for 100+ different aircraft. From time to time new aircraft models are added to the game, and since the AHWiki is community maintained, any editor may create a new page to reflect the in game additions.

Creating the new page[edit]

To keep the AHWiki clean and free of duplicate pages, the very first step is to search for the plane model in question to find if the page exists yet. Please use the exact same case sensitive format as used in the Aces High Performance Charts (including spaces, dashes, roman numerals, ect.). If the page does not exist, at the top of the search return page you will see "You searched for" followed by your search term as a link. Click on that link to start the process of creating a page. Please make sure your page name matches the Aces High name for the plane.

Copy and paste the following code to the new aircraft page to establish the basic layout and access the display templates:

{{AHII Aircraft pagesections}}
{{Infobox Aircraft

You may use the "show preview" button to preview the page from the create screen, however the page will not be created until the "save page" button is clicked. If you are sure that the page name is correct, "save page", and the page is ready to be filled it with information and data about the new plane. Instructions and documentation are provided for adding info to the templates.

Adding content to the new page[edit]

Many of the templates, are ready made with remarks tags in them offering information on what to add for that field. Simply overwrite the <!--Remarks tags --> with the applicable info. If a template field does not apply to the plane page you are editing, just ignore that field. The templates are coded not to display fields without data.

For the subsections of the page, simply type normal text. For example under the first section ===Development=== you would add normal text about the development of that aircraft. There are buttons at the top of the page edit form to add common tags that you may wish to use, like bold or italics text. They work similar to the ahbbs buttons, where you can select the text you wish to affect, and click the button to have tags bracket it. If you are unsure of exactly how to format a feature you've seen on an existing page. You can very easily access that page in another window, and click "edit page" to view the raw text and duplicate that code usage for the page you are editing. There are also additional editing tips that can be found in Help:Contents

To add an image or file to a page you must first upload the file using the Upload file link found in the toolbox section of the left hand collum. Further information on using images can be found at Help:Edit a page#Images. Please note that unless otherwise specified, no tags are required for displaying images in "infobox" templates, only the file name.

A final note on aircraft pages is that they are divided into historical and Aces High sections for the benefit of someone that finds there way to a page from outside Aces High via a search engine or other external source. Hitech Creations wants pages about Aircraft and Vehicles featured in the game to also be a useful resource of information for users outside of the game. This is something to keep in mind when adding content to the historical section of pages.

Adding the new page to Aircraft_of_Aces_High_II[edit]

Aircraft_of_Aces_High_II is currently a protected page because it is directly linked from the main hitechcreations.com site. To have the new aircraft page added to Aircraft_of_Aces_High_II please contact an Administrator
